John Keells Holdings sets a Technology Benchmark as it Goes Live on MS O365 with Microsoft & H One

John Keells Holdings (JKH) went live with Sri Lanka's largest Microsoft Office 365 (O365) migration on January 18th 2013. The group migrated over 3000 users across their group wide e-mail & collaboration solutions to set a new technology benchmark.

JKH has remained the leading conglomerate in the country due to their innovative and trend setting approach, a philosophy that has extended to the group's approach to IT, making them the first to recognize the benefits of new technologies, and adopt them ahead of the curve. With the O365 project JKH takes yet another landmark step in creating a truly mobile and connected workforce, using next generation tools to stay ahead.

Microsoft Office 365 unifies email, calendaring, collaboration and communication on a cost effective, easy-to-scale cloud platform providing greater flexibility for all organizations. With an intuitive user interface that mirrors widely used applications such as Word and Excel, transitioning users from other mail formats is easy and painless, making it a perfect fit for any organization.

Migrating such a high volume of users away from their legacy mail system to a completely new application is no small feat. The highly skilled H One team worked with Microsoft's Regional Technology team, to manage this project and bring together experience and expertise. Drawing from the regional team's best practices on complex migration projects which include that of the Coca-Cola Company, they set out a detailed project management methodology, with clear strategies for remediation, mitigating risk, support procedures, and getting users trained and ready to transition.

"It is great to see that industry leaders such as John Keells continue to focus on innovation and remain committed to staying at the cutting edge of technology, they are leading the way for Sri Lankan companies in the adoption of Cloud which is the technology of the future." said Samath Fernando, CEO of H One (Pvt) Ltd.

For a company like JKH that is constantly growing and evolving, Cloud and O365 are ideal for the easy scaling of users to meet the elasticity of demand, while maintaining cost efficiencies with the 'pay for what you use' model, he added.

A Hirdaramani Group venture, H One provides a range of information technology services and products to clients ranging from Banking & Finance to Hospitality, Manufacturing and a host of other industries. The company has grown in leaps and bounds in a short period of time and is renowned for their skill and expertise in managing large scale infrastructures. H One is a Microsoft Large Account Reseller (LAR) and Tier 1 Partner, a distinction held by a select group of companies. H One also partners with other industry leaders such as Adobe, Symantec, Checkpoint and Kaspersky.

With Sri Lanka's largest conglomerate John Keells Holdings moving onto cloud - supported by global software leaders like Microsoft and technology partners like H One - there is the no doubt that the global cloud revolution has well and truly arrived.
